For
more than 10 years, Poly-Aktief has, on a non-profit basis, organised
ski trips and ski lessons for people with a physical handicap.
Hundreds of physically handicapped people have been taught by
Poly-Aktief to ski in a method suitable to their abilities and
countless volunteers and instructors have been trained by Poly-Aktief.
Poly-Aktief was begun because there was scarcely any possibility
for people with a handicap to learn to ski.
In the meantime, Poly-Aktief has become one of the most important
organisations in Europe.
Poly-Aktief offers training possibilities with new techniques
to learn to ski.
In addition, Poly-Aktief offers a huge assortment of ski materials
in almost every size.
These materials are constantly being updated to the most modern
requirements.
Poly-Aktief
is the only ski organisation for the handicapped affiliated with
the Netherlands Association for Accessible Sports (NEBAS/NSG),
and participates in the European Slide project
The
lessons are given by experienced, specially trained instructors.
You learn to ski independently within a few days, during one of
our group trips or arrangements, in the real snow in Austria.
Experience has taught us that people under expert leadership in
the snow, regardless of their talent, generally learn to ski independently
in a mono-sit, sleigh-skiing or Snow-Surfing within 3 days.
Crutch-guided skiing generally takes a little longer, also regardless
of talent.
